Meet Dr. Kendra McLaughlin, PhD, LPC-S

Helping you navigate challenges with confidence and care.

Smiling woman with long hair standing against a brick wall.

If you feel frustrated, overwhelmed, or as though traditional strategies and interventions do not work for your child’s/students’ challenging behaviors

You’re in the right place.

I’m here to provide practical and effective interventions.

I have experience leading professional development/training for residential direct care staff, foster/adoptive parents, educators, and community organizations. I am passionate about raising awareness of the impact of trauma and helping educators, parents, caregivers, and organizations learn new ways to support healing.

My Work Experience

I believe that through commitment and collaboration, we can positively impact future generations.

I worked in a residential foster care facility for 10 years as a case manager, therapist, and clinical director. At this facility, I provided individual, group, and family therapy to the children and youth while responding to crises. Additionally, I provided counseling for children and youth in local foster homes. I have experience providing complex case management services to adults. I have worked in a psychiatric hospital, providing group services. I work full-time within a school district, providing counseling services for students. I am also an Adjunct Professor and Dissertation Faculty Member at Regent University.

I have extensive work experience with children and adolescents who struggle with depression, anxiety, grief, and relationship issues due to trauma, disrupted placements, adoption, and toxic stress.

My guiding principles

Professionalism

I strive to maintain high standards, communicate clearly, and build trust with others.

Transparency

I will be honest about the work required and potential hurdles. I will support and encourage you throughout the journey.

Creativity

When traditional interventions seem to fall short, creativity is essential to develop strategies to address challenging behavior.
